A lovely 17th century farm set in a peaceful yet accessible location on the edge of the Cotswolds, Lower Rudloe Farm consists of a delightful group of buildings around a traditional yard with accommodation on all sides, and a large renovated barn with stunning views towards the city of Bath. Set in 18 acres of fields and woodlands along one side of the beautiful By Brook valley, the farm is the ideal location for unique and memorable gatherings.

Sustainability is our ethos – heating is provided by a bio-mass boiler, solar panels contribute to our electricity supply, cleaning and bathroom products are vegan, organic and eco-friendly and we avoid single use plastic where we can. No artificial pesticides or fertiliser are used on the land, our animals are given little or no medication and we are in the process of rewilding some of our fields and planting more trees to encourage as many varieties of wildlife as possible.

One of the fields is ancient limestone grassland that is rich in wildflowers (such as moon daisies, common spotted orchids and cowslips). This habitat used to be the main land use in the By Brook Valley when the woollen industry was at its peak. As the UK has lost 97% of flower-rich meadows, we have managed this field by careful sheep grazing, and worked to diversify the other fields using green hay. Grasslands with a wide range of native plant species provide much better nutrition for livestock, support butterflies and insect pollinators as well as storing significant amounts of carbon deep within their soils.
